Each holiday season we share tips aimed at keeping you and your family safe. Past topics have included ways to stay safe while out shopping and how protect your home while traveling to visit family. This year we’re going to examine three issues that are often overlooked but pose real dangers during the holiday season; Fire Safety, Impaired Driving and Online Safety.

Fire Safety

Fires injure over 2,600 individuals and cause over $930 million in damage during the holiday season (United States Fire Administration). While decorating your home to spread holiday cheer is a staple for many, not taking the necessary precautions when doing so can put your family and home at risk. Here are some of the leading causes of fire related events during the holiday season.

Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s there are more alcohol-related traffic fatalities than any other time of the year.
